You fear getting hurt and therefore, you protect yourself, hiding your feelings. Armor can also symbolize strength and resistance against adversity. It is likely that an individual with armor or shield is incapable of spontaneous interaction with people. In dreams, both protections are symbols that demonstrate anxiety. You must ask yourself what is it you want to defend yourself from.

In Christianity, the armor of God that provides the believer with all the tools necessary for righteous living. Similarly in Judaism, a special breastplate was worn by early high priests, symbolizing their authority and connection with the Divine.
Psychically, wearing a helmet reveals the potential need for psychic or mental protection of any nature. You may be studying too hard, or be under some kind of psychic attack.
Knight in shining armor: Being rescued, or hoping for aid in rime of need. Alternatively, the desire to venture forth on a quest for personal honor, or fight for a just cause.
Vision: Dreaming about armor: you want protection or to be shielded from strange influences. Are you looking for a “thick skin” to protect you from aggressive or nasty people? Wearing armor: you are afraid that others will attack vdu—you feel stifled by negative feelings. Has fear driven you to put on “armor”—hoping for protection from the influence of a parent or a “significant other”? Maybe you have protected yourself so much that others can’t get close to you? Whichever applies to you, make changes, because walking in heavy armor makes moving through life difficult.
If chains feature alongside the armor, this is a symbol of enslavement and unhappiness with your current commitments.
If your chains break or are broken, this is a positive sign.
Armor could represent your defense mechanisms, those things that you use to protect yourself from self and/or others (e.g., denial and repression). Physical barriers may keep others away, as will your more negative behaviors and attitudes. On a more spiritual note, some believe that dreaming about armor may be a good sign which represents a shield of protection from difficulties and temptation.
Armor, or a shield, in a dream can have the positive meaning of being protected. Negatively, armor can connote psychological armor that prevents individuals from opening up and sharing themselves.
To see a suit of armor on display means you are worried about lack of security.
